The NSW Government is supporting a National Energy Bill Relief payment to help small businesses manage rising electricity costs in the 2025–26 financial year. Eligible businesses can receive up to $150 to offset their electricity bills. Learn more.
The payment is part of the Australian Government’s extended Energy Bill Relief Fund, delivered in NSW by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. It supports small business energy consumers facing ongoing cost pressures. Details here.
Most small businesses with an electricity account from a retailer will have the credit automatically applied to their bills — typically in two quarterly instalments of $75. If the payment does not appear on your bill, contact your electricity retailer for assistance. Check eligibility and payment process.
If your small business is in an embedded network (e.g., inside a shopping centre or strata complex), you may need to apply directly to receive the payment. Eligibility includes having an active ABN, a business electricity account with at least 90 days of metered usage, and annual consumption below 100 MWh. Eligibility details.
Important dates: Applications for embedded network businesses opened on 14 August 2025 and close on 30 June 2026. Apply now.
