Approval is Required For

- Meter panel upgrades
- CT metering works
- Isolation of embedded network equipment
- Temporary builder's supplies
- Electrical upgrades that may affect the embedded network
If you are unsure whether approval is required, contact us before commencing work.
Metering Requirements
Where metering is required, Energy Intelligence will arrange the appropriate metering solution.
Depending on the jurisdiction and installation, this may include:
- Appointment of an Accredited Metering Coordinator (where applicable)
- Supply and commissioning of compliant electricity meters
- Meter programming and testing
- Meter registration
Please do not order or install metering equipment without prior approval.
Compliance Requirements
All electrical works must:
- Be completed by a licensed electrical contractor.
- Comply with the applicable Australian Standards.
- Comply with the relevant State Service and Installation Rules (SIR).
- Meet all distributor and jurisdictional requirements.
- Be completed in accordance with the building owner's requirements.
- Be inspected where required by legislation.
Where applicable, a Certificate of Electrical Safety (or equivalent prescribed certificate for your State or Territory) must be provided following completion of works.
Before Relocating Any Meter
Please contact Energy Intelligence before relocating or disconnecting any electricity meter.
Relocating a meter without approval may:
- Interrupt electricity supply to other customers.
- Affect electricity billing.
- Require additional rectification works.
- Delay project completion.
- Result in non-compliant metering installations
We will advise the correct metering arrangement before works commence.
